Two women were hit with glass bottles while on a night out in the centre of Hinckley. Officers were called to reports of an assault in Hinckley's Market Place in the early hours of Saturday, May 27.
The police found that the women, both in their 20s, were struck with glass bottles in the assault, and following initial enquiries, two other women were arrested at the scene. The pair were arrested on suspicion of assault causing actual bodily harm and using threatening words or behaviour likely to cause alarm or distress.
They have both since been released on bail, with officers still investigating the incident. An appeal has been made for witnesses and those with footage of the incident to get in touch.

PC Mollie Dabell, the investigating officer, said: "While two people have been arrested in connection with this incident, I’m still keen to speak to anyone who saw what happened and might be able to help.
"I am particularly keen to speak to anyone with mobile phone or dashcam footage. Anything you’re able to provide, no matter how insignificant you think it is, could assist us."
